Redress Counsellor – Brisbane

The role: The Redress Counsellor plays a pivotal role in providing trauma-informed counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals who have suffered childhood sexual abuse while under institutional care, supporting their journey and providing outreach to communities.

Through trauma-informed counselling, the Redress Counsellor aids in the healing process and helps clients understand the complexities of trans-generational trauma. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position involves managing initial inquiries, assisting with applications, maintaining accurate case notes, and ensuring confidentiality.

The Redress Counsellor also focuses on developing and maintaining linkages with relevant agencies and stakeholders, working collaboratively to deliver effective support services across Queensland.

Permanent, fixed-term contract until 30th June 2024 (with the possibility of extension); position based in our Woolloongabba office.
