We’re excited to welcome two new Research Officers, Sylvia Nakachi and Daniel Lucas, to the Link-Up (Qld) team.
Link-Up (Qld)’s research department has long been central to our work, supporting Stolen Generations survivors and descendants by tracing family histories, locating archival records, and helping prepare for reunions with family and country. As the first of the national Link-Up organisations to establish a dedicated research team, we remain committed to culturally-safe, thorough, and respectful research practices that honour the stories and experiences of our clients.
Daniel joins the team after several years working in early childhood education while studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in History. He brings a strong appreciation for how early life experiences can shape identity, which informs his approach to this work. Since starting in the role, he’s been engaging in training, reading and reflection, and is looking forward to contributing research that supports healing and reconnection.

Sylvia brings with her many years of experience teaching Indigenous art and currently serves on a human research ethics committee. She has a keen interest in cultural heritage and genealogical research, and is passionate about the importance of ancestral naming practices and the role they play in maintaining cultural continuity across generations.
We’re proud to have Sylvia and Daniel on board and look forward to the unique contributions they will make as part of Link-Up (Qld)’s ongoing work in truth-telling and healing.
