Annie O'Brien - Receptionist
Anne O'Brien - Admin / Receptionist

I am non-indigenous. I was born in Narrabri, NSW but lived in Wee Waa. I left home at 17yrs and became a Typesetter with the NSW Govt Printing Office for nearly four years. When I was 23yrs old I joined the Australian Army. I had the privilege of being part of the first platoon of women to train at Kapooka along with the men. I went on to become a part of Royal Australian Corps of Signals. Spent time in Canberra and Sydney. I got out in 1989 to take care of my son. Made many lifetime friends who I don’t see often but when I do it was like I only saw them yesterday.
While raising my son I got the TAFE equivalent of the senior certificate, Tertiary Prep Course. At James Cook University Townsville I study Anthropology and Archaeology for two and half years. Still haven’t finished the degree. One day maybe! Moved to Brisbane at the end of 1997. My son is now grown and finished his education so now I am back out there in the working sector. I am part of the great team here at Link-Up (Qld) and hope to be here for a long while.

Mick Angeles - IT Multimedia & Promotions Coordinator

My indigenous roots are the Binbinga & Ngandi mob, McArthur River in the Northern Territory and the Barunggam mob out Chinchilla way. I also have South Sea Islander kanaka (Ober Island, [aka Ambae Is.] New Hebrides, [Vanuatu]), Phillipino and Scandinavian bloodlines, and now that I've shaken the family tree, some Japanese has fallen out as well. Until I started work at Link-Up, I thought my mob came from Hollywood, but now I'm sure it's from the United Nations Assembly.
I am also a professional musician/singer and love an audience (though I'm really a shy fella). I have four brothers, three sons (one set of twins), two wives, six donkeys and a horse.....Nah! just kidding....I don't own a horse. I joined Link-Up (Qld) in June 2007 to initially update and upgrade their website. Now they can't get rid of me. I have Diplomas in Information Technology (Multimedia Integration), Cartooning & Illustration and Photography.
I believe the services, care and professionallism I have witnessed at Link-Up(Qld) is a major contributor to their successes in reuniting families of the Stolen Generation.

Caisley Sinclair - Caseworker

I have just joined the Link-Up team as a caseworker. I am originally from the United States and come from a very mixed heritage background.
I started out my working career as a builder, before deciding to go back to University as a mature aged student. I studied Social Work at UQ and have worked with Dept of Communities / Brisbane Youth Detention Centre / various Supported Accommodation Programs / Salvation Army / PA Hospital Mental Health. This wide and varied experience, coupled with my personal beliefs and values has given me a broad understanding of social and personal issues that effect individuals.
I believe we are linked together as brothers and sisters, and rely deeply upon the earth and its great spirits to nourish and guide our individual journeys. I am looking forward to working with people on their journeys of healing and reunification and it gives me great pride and honour to do such.

Paul Paulson - Team Leader
I am a Mununjali man from the Yugambeh region from Beaudesert in South East Qld.  I have always been an advocate in sharing our culture with everyone whether it is in Australia or overseas. In my professional career (20yrs) as a teacher, I have been fortunate enough to teach, lecture and tutor at universities, primary & secondary schools and TAFE's in the south east of Queensland .
I have spent the majority of my career in youth work and social justice for young Indigenous people. My experience in these fields is vast and has been very rewarding, and I hope to utilise this knowledge to help others.
I have joined Link-Up(Qld) Aboriginal Corporation as an endeavour to continue my work in assisting our people in their journey's of healing, and look forward to working with a great team of passionate Indigenous professionals.
Michell Forster - SEWB Counsellor (Nambour-Sunshine Coast)

I started employment with Link-Up (Qld) in April 2008 as the Nambour/Sunshine Coast SEWB Counsellor. My mob are descendants of the Kunja nation from Cunnamulla way. I have worked as a Youth Worker / Counsellor with TAFE Nambour and previously as the Indigenous Community Development Worker within the Nambour Community Centre. I am very passionate about creating an awareness of the impact that policies have had on our people - past and present. Link-Up (Qld) gives me the opportunity to work with those who have been affected by these policies.

Sylvia McGregor - SEWB Counsellor (Cairns)

I was born and raised in Cherbourg. I have three children of my own and have also helped to raise my immediate family member’s children. I first worked for BACCA (Barambah Aboriginal Child Care Agency) in Cherbourg for over 7 years as a Family Support Worker, Court Support Worker and as Co Coordinator. I went on to the Department of Child Safety in Ipswich and Murgon; I also worked for the Department of Communities doing Youth work and the pilot project in and around Cherbourg for Court Conferencing. I moved to Cairns to further my studies working for the Kuranda Neighbourhood Centre for the past six months until commencing with Link-Up here in Cairns and enjoying it immensely because I can still continue my studies full time and be part of a valuable service to the Indigenous community.

Darcy Bolton, SEWB Rockhampton

I joined Link-up on the 23rd June 2008. I look forward to helping our people as some of my cousins were apart of the Stolen Generation. I came to live in Brisbane in 2002 and haven’t been back since. I have a beautiful little daughter named Makyra who keeps me on my feet. I’m actually a qualified Aboriginal Health Worker and have worked at many Aboriginal Health Services in and around Brisbane including North Stradbroke Island. I completed my Certificate Three in Indigenous Community Services and Primary Health Care at ATSICHET at Dutton park in 2004. Clive Martin Adams

Walter Waia
Walter Waia - Caseworker

I am an Ait Kadal (Salt Water Crocodile Totem) man from Saibai Island in the Torres Strait Qld. I have commenced employment with Link-Up (Qld) on 1 December 2008 after working in State & Commonwealth Public Service and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education for 25 years. I am a Caseworker and I have taken on this opportunity as a challenge and also a new path of my learning journey. I am aware that this type of work is a very rewarding experience. I have always been passionate about Indigenous affairs. My experience of Torres Strait Native Title Regime has created an awareness of how previous government legislations have placed the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in complex situation for many generations. Link-Up offers me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding of how these previous legislations have directly impacted upon the lives of individuals, families and clans of the Indigenous Australians.
