but ended with strong support from the community.

An estimated 300 people were entertained by Angus Rabbit and the T.A.B. Band, ex-Idoligenous entrant Gayle Jones, the Indigenous Choir and Mooj Fogarty & the Koorana Dancers from St Clavers College.

Brisbane City Hall Sorry Day Event - 26th May 2008

The Brisbane Lord Mayor, Cr. Campbell Newman, hosted the "Laying of the Wreath" ceremony at the Sorry Day Plaque in the Brisbane City Hall foyer for the commemoration of Reconciliation and the recognition of the Stolen Generation. The plaque was originally placed on the ground in King George Square. After the refurbishment of the square, the plaque will be placed above the ground between the Australian and Aboriginal flagpoles. Cr. Newman delivered a compelling speech and spoke to the invited guests. Link-Up's Amy Atkins and Linda McBride-Yuke also spoke to the gathering of the importance of Reconciliation. A special thanks to Charro Angeles, who played didgeeridoo throughout the ceremony.

UQ Sorry Day Dinner 2008

This is the fourth year running that the University of Queensland's Indigenous Division has hosted a dinner for Sorry Day and Reconciliation celebrations. Each year has seen the numbers swell to the point that next year to cater for participants, the dinner may have to move off campus. Well done Sam Watson and team!
